India vs Pak Live: Pakistan beats India by five wickets

Bangalore: Pakistan have defeated India by five wickets in the first T20. Shoaib Malik finished the game with a six. At one point, Pakistan were tottering at 12/3 courtesy a fiesty spell of swing bowling by debutante Bhuvneshwar Kumar. However, skipper Mohd Hafiz and Malik took charge of the innings and had a brilliant partnership thereafter.
The Pakistani skipper was adjudged man-of-the-match for his blistering knock of 61.
Kumar took three wickets in his four overs. Bhuvneshwar bowled Umar Akmal and Nasir Jamshed with sensational in-swingers.
Talking of the Indian innings, at one time the hosts were 77/0 but they went down like a pack of cards. Rahane has been the leading scorer with 42 of 31 deliveries. India lost their last eight wickets for a score of 47.
Umar Gul took 3 wickets with the most crucial being Yuvraj Singh. Mohd Irfan, who was touted as Pak's secret weapon before the encounter was outstanding in the game. He bothered all the batsmen with his pace and bounce. No Indian batsman appeared comfortable while facing him.
Before this, Pakistan won the toss and invited India to bat. Gambhir and Rahane took India to a solid start and it seemed that India would post a healthy score in excess of 160. However, both the openers got out in quick intervals. Yuvraj Singh hit the first delivery from Shahid Afridi for a six but even he was having trouble against Irfan and Ajmal. The southpaw finally went down to Gul. Dhoni, Sharma and Jadeja departed in a short time and all India managed was a score of 133.
Previously, match referee tossed the coin and Pak skipper Mohd Hafeez won the toss.
When asked by Ravi Shastri about the playing eleven, the Pak skipper forgot his players. India have included newcomer Bhuvneshwar Kumar in their side.
The two-match T20 and three-match ODI series has been squeezed in between India's ongoing full series against the England cricket team, which has taken a break to go home for Christmas and New Year holidays.
India and Pakistan, which last played a bilateral series in 2007, squared off in multi-national events several times after 2008 but for the first time, a Pakistani cricket team will be hosted for a series after the attacks.
The Indian team is going through some testing times as they renew rivalry with Pakistan since the side has been struggling for success.
